It was the full moon and Min-gyu was circling the sofa, his claws a steady click on the tiles.

"Did you lose one of your toys?" Frankenstein asked, not looking up from his notepad. He hadn't heard anything else moving across the floor.

Min-gyu barked once, sitting in front of Frankenstein. This young, he almost looked exactly like a canine pup rather than a werewolf, only his paws wider and his front limbs a bit longer.

Frankenstein looked at him, eyebrow raised. "Yes? Do you want to come up here?"

The sofa was currently too tall for Min-gyu to jump up comfortably, and Frankenstein reached down to pick him up.

Min-gyu barked, dashing away.

"No?" Then what did Min-gyu want? It couldn't be that he was hungry - they'd just eaten. Same as going to the toilet. Playing, perhaps?

Min-gyu dropped down so his tail was high in the air, his bottom wiggling and - oh no.

Frankenstein knew what Min-gyu wanted to do, and he knew that he wouldn't be able to.

Another wriggle and Min-gyu jumped.

Even before he left the ground, Frankenstein knew he wouldn't make it.

Min-gyu didn't even reach the cushion, snout slamming into the sofa before dropping down with a thud.

Frankenstein covered his mouth to smother a laugh as Min-gyu got up again.

"Give me a moment," Frankenstein said, heading for Muzaka's workshop - Muzaka usually kept spare pieces of wood there. Frankenstein could make his own ramp in just a few minutes, but he didn't want to leave Min-gyu alone for that long if Min-gyu was going to continue trying to jump up.

"There," he said when he returned, placing a piece of wood up against the sofa. "Now you can climb up easier."

Min-gyu looked at it and then went over. It wasn't entirely stable but if Frankenstein kept-

Min-gyu gripped the side of the ramp with his fangs and pulled until the ramp toppled over. He barked at it and then went back to where he'd been, getting ready again.

"All right, if that's what you want to do," Frankenstein said. He would keep an eye on Min-gyu to make sure he didn't hurt himself or get too discouraged.

The next full moon, Frankenstein set out the metal sofa ramp he'd made, just in case Min-gyu had changed his mind. Min-gyu might not even be interested on getting up to the sofa tonight.

Min-gyu came into view and he was bigger than last month, with longer limbs and a shorter snout. Min-gyu circled the sofa again, ignoring the ramp, so it appeared he still wanted to get up himself.

Min-gyu readied himself and leaped.

He cleared the cushion this time, but not completely, his claws catching onto the fabric before he fell back to the floor.

"Do you want help?" Frankenstein asked, eyeing where the claws were. He'd made the sofa to withhold Muzaka's claws, but who knew what would happen with Min-gyu's claws.

Min-gyu growled at him, ears flicking back as his back paws paddled air.

Min-gyu wouldn't make it tonight, but at this rate he should get it in the next month or so.

The next month, Min-gyu was almost big enough to just climb up onto the sofa, but he was able to jump up on his first try.

"Well done!" Frankenstein beamed at him as Min-gyu dashed from end to end of the sofa before climbing onto Frankenstein's lap.

Min-gyu peered over the edge and then stilled, backing away with a whine.

...Ah.

Now that Min-gyu learned how to get up, the next step was learning how to get down.
