Kentas took in a deep breath as he woke up, not bothering to open his eyes just yet. M-21 was there, and that was good. He buried his nose into M-21’s hair with a soft growl, enjoying the reminder as he tightened his arm over him.

There was someone else in the bed with them.

Kentas snapped his eyes open, M-24 holding his gaze. And…Kentas realised he was feeling M-21’s clothes on bare skin. Damn. He must have been instinctual last night.

He gingerly took his arm back. He knew how the M-21 of his time felt about his touch, but this M-21 and M-24 weren’t the ones he knew, and they’d both made it clear they had a much bigger space bubble. And with him trapping them like that, that was probably why they hadn’t left when he’d fallen asleep.

“Sorry about that,” Kentas said with a sigh, sitting up. If he was starting to abduct the pair while he was instinctual… Not that he could blame his instinctual self: he was just acting on his wants that he wasn’t doing when he could think clearly. He’d just done what he’d already been wanting to do.

But he should explain anyway.

“When I’m instinctual, I tend to do what I’ve been wanting to do.” Which was to keep keep the pair close and protect them.

M-24 nodded, his gaze dropping to M-21. “He…hasn’t slept like this in a while.”

Kentas blinked, knowing that there was something underlying M-24’s words, but he couldn’t pick up what it was.

M-24 straightened and watched Kentas as he picked up M-21. M-21 didn’t wake up, and Kentas didn’t move to help as M-24 tucked M-21’s head against his shoulder. M-21 had to be sleeping deeply when he hadn’t woken up from that.

Kentas watched them leave and sighed when M-24 closed the door, moving to the edge of the bed. He found his clothes strewn around the floor and he started pulling them on again. Had he just ruined everything that had happened between them?

But. M-24 hadn’t reacted badly to what had happened. And M-21 had clearly reacted well to his presence as well.

So maybe that had helped in the long run.

M-24 was saying as close to ‘thank you’ as he could.
