"Mrow!"
Frankenstein lifted the washing basket, seeing Tao dart around his feet. "Yes, hello."
"Mrowmrow."
"I can't play quite yet, even if you seem intent on getting underfoot."
"Raow!"
He heard M-21 trot closer, grabbing Tao by the scruff.
"Thank you. Do you want to come outside?"
M-21 cocked his head to the side, falling in step beside Frankenstein. He opened the garden door for Frankenstein, and set Tao down.
Tao began investigating the garden, M-21 keeping an eye on him as he lay down next to Frankenstein.
It lasted all of one minute.
As soon as Frankenstein took out a towel and flicked it, Tao raced over again, leaping at the closest corner to him.
"I suppose this makes sure he doesn't escape into one of the other gardens," Frankenstein said as Tao barrelled right into his shin.
"Mrow!" Tao demanded, leaping vertically just as Frankenstein pulled it out of reach.
Frankenstein flicked the next towel near Tao, Tao able to hook a claw in for a second.
Well, it would give Tao something new to play with for the time being.
* * *
"Mrow mrow." Tao was sitting by the garden door, tail tip flicking as Frankenstein approached.
Frankenstein smiled. "Do you still want to help with the laundry?"
"Mrow."
Tao dashed outside, startling some of the birds that had been pecking at the grass.
Tao didn't seem as interested in the laundry as Frankenstein collected it, but there was less to draw his attention to it.
Frankenstein caught M-21 in the corner of his eye, the wolf laying down by the garden door, watching Tao.
It didn't take long to gather everything up, and Tao followed Frankenstein in without being called.
Frankenstein only paid enough attention to Tao to make sure the kitten wasn't underfoot as he folded the towels.
He didn't need to.
He turned around, ready to set the newly folded towel on the pile, and was met with Tao's content face.
"Are you helping by making sure the towels are kept flat," Frankenstein said dryly with a sigh. He received purring as an answer.
So long as Tao only claimed that pile, then at least the others would be fur free for longer.
