Tao yawned as he crawled into bed, rubbing his eyes. It had been a long night, but he’d deciphered most of the book he’d - “Oof!”
There wasn’t as much information as Tao liked on dragons, especially friendly ones, so he didn’t know if M was growing fast or if quadrupling in size in as many months was normal. It didn’t usually matter to him aside from food, but there was still enough for the both of them.
It was just when M climbed onto his chest, laying his full weight there that Tao realised there could be a problem.
“Uh, M?” He tried wriggling away.
A soft rumble, M not budging.
“Why’re you on my chest?” Tao tried again. If he tried to move M, M could dig his claws in and that…would not be good, putting it lightly.
M blinked at him.
“I mean, your shiny are over there?” The original group of coins were kept in his pouch on the table next to his bed. “Though I guess you’ve outgrown it a little, heh.” It was hard for that to be a pile to sleep on when it was the size of a paw.
M blinked at him again. “You’re my shiny,” he said, laying his head on Tao’s chest with a sigh.
Oh. …Wait. Dragons could just transfer their hoard tendencies like that?
…He was M’s shiny now?
Tao couldn’t stop staring at M, who seemed to have fallen asleep straight away. He was a dragon’s hoard now.
…Huh. Well, now he wasn’t going to sleep for a while as he thought this over.
