Tao stretched out with a yawn, M-21 curling tighter around him.
"Yeah, yeah," Tao said with a laugh, reaching across to pat M-21's fur. Tao might have been pointedly dragged from his own room and away from his computer (again. Twice in a row even!) but M-21 seemed to tolerate his phone. That didn't count apparently.
And M-21 did make a great backrest.
He felt M-21 stiffen and when he looked over, M-21 was alert, his ears pricked and pointing towards the window.
Hm.
"It's too late to be a squirrel..." Did South Korea even have squirrels? Tao wasn't sure if he'd seen any recently and he should set up some cameras to-
His thoughts halted as M-21 growled, tensing even further.
Definitely not a squirrel then.
Just as Tao was getting up to check what was outside, there was a thump at the window, a face appearing at the glass.
Short werewolf snout, brown fur, a mohawk that disappeared past the top of the window.
A friendly face, even if Tao had never seen it like that. M-21's growl didn't go away.
Kentas looked at M-21, then down at the window frame.
"No!" Tao dashed over, hoping he'd read Kentas right. "No, no no, don't come in that way!" From the little he could see, Kentas wouldn't fit through the window without the windowsill, let alone with. "Go to the balcony-" Tao pointed to the right, Kentas' eyes following. "-and I'll let you in there."
Kentas' ears flattened before he nodded. Phew, crisis ove-
Kentas leaped to the next windowsill, the thump reverberating through the house.
Tao winced, fingers already flying over his phone screen as he hurried out the room - the heads up text was done and sent by the time Tao reached the balcony, Kentas crouched on top of the railing.
He wasn't sure how the railing hadn't buckled under Kentas' weight yet, but Boss might have reinforced it. Who knew with Boss.
Tao had to jerk the door open when Kentas leaped towards him. "Someone's impatient, huh?" Tao said as he locked the door again once Kentas was inside.
But Kentas did have a good reason to be - M-21 was worth it.
Tao knew M-21 had crept out his room not because he heard M-21's growl, but because Kentas' tail started beating hard enough to almost knock Tao off his feet.
Uh oh. Was Kentas going to start chasing?
Kentas was gone in a second but there wasn't a following clatter (or torn up carpet) and when Tao reached M-21's room, the pair were already curled up on M-21's bed, M-21 up against the headboard while Kentas next to him. M-21 was doing a rolling growl that didn't seem to be deterring Kentas who was grooming him while his tail thumped against the bed.
Tao watched for a few more seconds, but M-21 didn't move away or snap at Kentas and Kentas didn't stop either so it didn't seem like it would dissolve into a fight.
Tao tested the bed and it didn't collapse under their combined weight. Maybe Boss made their beds too.
It had been warm enough next to M-21, but Kentas was toasty.
Tao sank into Kentas' fur with a sigh. So there was some benefit to not being connected to the PC...
