Min-gyu didn't want to sleep. They'd had a really busy day (they'd went to the zoo and saw so many different animals!) but he could feel his eyes getting heavy, even though it was still sunny outside. His head dipped forward before he caught himself, shaking his head to try and stay awake.

"You sleepy, kiddo?" Muzaka said, sitting next to him on the sofa.

"N-no!" he said, almost stuttering with a yawn, but he was able to stop it in time. The world was spinning and his whole body was tired but he had to stay awake.

He didn't want this to end.

What if this was all a dream?

What if he fell asleep here and Frankenstein and Muzaka were gone? Or he was back at his old carers.

He sniffed, the world wavering again as he felt the tears well up in his eyes.

"I'm okay!" Min-gyu said, rubbing at his eyes, feeling his sleeve get soaked through already. He just had to stay awake. And not show he was crying. Frankenstein and Muzaka wouldn't like that.

If he stayed awake, he would never wake up to find out everything was a dream.

He gasped when Muzaka wrapped an arm around his shoulders, Muzaka making that sound that was like a growl but it wasn't an angry one. It rumbled right through Min-gyu and-

Oh no.

Min-gyu could feel his eyes closing again and he couldn't fight it this time, Muzaka's warmth making him feel... He didn't know.

He didn't want to sleep.

If he slept...

He didn't...

He...

Min-gyu woke up to a place he didn't recognise and he sucked in a breath, something covering him. He wanted to get up and run away, but if he moved too much or made too much noise, then he might get the attention of-

"-you add that and I won't have any taste buds left!"

Muzaka? That was Muzaka's voice.

"I'll make you a separate portion then, so I can add my mild spices and Min-gyu can choose how much he wants."

Frankenstein?

Min-gyu peered around (his head was on a cushion, and he was under a soft blanket that he hadn't seen before) but couldn't see them. Were they in the kitchen?

He'd woken up and he was still with Frankenstein and Muzaka.

He hadn't lost them.

He was still here. With them.

Min-gyu curled up tighter into the blanket, smelling whatever they used to clean it, and drifted off to sleep again.
