Muzaka noticed Min-gyu was staring furiously at what looked like his homework as he passed by the living room.

"Hey, kiddo," he said, walking in. "What'cha doin'?"

"Homework," Min-gyu grumbled, not looking up.

Ah, so he was right. There were a lot of things Min-gyu glared at, but there was only a few he reserved his intense glares for, homework being one of them. "You want help?" he asked, pulling up a chair to sit next to him.

Min-gyu didn't look up, still gripping his pencil tightly.

It wasn't a direct no, and Min-gyu wasn't pulling away either, so Muzaka continued. "What do you have to do?"

Min-gyu pursed his lips. "I have to draw one of my favourite things."

Aaaah, that was it. Muzaka hummed, laying an elbow on the table and resting his chin in his palm as he thought. Min-gyu didn't exactly like things - at best, he seemed to tolerate them. Which was better than when Min-gyu only wanted to eat three different things a few months ago. They'd gained that much trust since Min-gyu had first come into their home, at least.

Food was out, as far as Muzaka could tell. "Whaaat about Takeo and Tao?" Those two were who he saw Min-gyu talking to most when he arrived to pick Min-gyu up from school.

Min-gyu's brow furrowed. "No."

Hnn, something else. What else was Min-gyu attached to? "Do ya wanna draw your blanket, or your night light?" They'd found Min-gyu slept better with the wolf blanket Muzaka had bought for him, and his nightmares had lessened once they put a night light in his room.

"No." Min-gyu didn't say anything for a few seconds. "I think... I know what I'll draw."

Muzaka beamed at him. "That's great! Do you want help?" Maybe find some reference pictures or bring whatever Min-gyu wanted to draw.

Min-gyu shook his head, exhaling. "I got it."

"All right, kiddo." He ruffled Min-gyu's hair as he got up. Min-gyu had told him what his problem was - it was a start, and more than he used to do. "I'll be in the kitchen if ya need anything." It was just about time Muzaka started making dinner, which was why he was passing in the first place.

"Yeah, fine."

Muzaka left him there, going through what he'd need to prepare first.

"Min-gyu, can ya clear the table," Muzaka called out over the sizzling pans, "dinner's almost ready."

Min-gyu didn't answer, but he heard the flurry of movement afterwards.

He went through to set out the coasters and to check on Min-gyu. "How'd it go?"

Min-gyu was in the process of putting his paper away and as soon as Muzaka asked, he span around, hiding it behind his back, looking the ground.

Muzaka frowned. "Min-gyu? Hey, what's wrong?"

"Nothing," Min-gyu said quickly. Too quickly, still not looking at him.

"Hey, it's okay," Muzaka said, walking over and kneeling in front of Min-gyu. "I ain't gonna be angry." Did Min-gyu think he'd done his homework wrong, or he hadn't drawn it properly?

Min-gyu peered at him. "Are - are you sure?"

Muzaka drew him into a hug. "I promise, okay?" At worst, Min-gyu would just have to redraw it, maybe stick it on top of the original paper. That was it. No big deal.

Slowly, Min-gyu relaxed in his arms. "Okay," he mumbled into Muzaka's shoulder.

Muzaka heard the crinkle of paper before Min-gyu presented him with it.

It looked like-

Oh.

Oh!

A face, with long, silver hair. If that wasn't a big enough hint, a scar cut up from the left cheek. Min-gyu had taken care to draw in Muzaka's eyebrows and he had a wide, smiling mouth.

With a laugh, Muzaka scooped Min-gyu up into his arms, spinning them around. "How could I be angry with this?" he said, before showering Min-gyu's cheek with kisses.

"Gaaah!"

Min-gyu protested, but Muzaka could feel Min-gyu trembling a little when he held onto Muzaka's neck as he carried him through to the kitchen to get dinner. He was going to take a picture of the drawing as soon as possible so he could look at it whenever he wanted.

He was Min-gyu's favourite.
