Tao tapped his cheek as he rested his chin in his palm. It was a habit now to keep an eye on the monitors, but there hadn't been any more murders since Yuri. Maybe he should start focusing on other things. He wouldn't need it, but he could start trapping the security door. Sure, he could see who was approaching his back, but that currently just meant he'd see his death approaching. Em had proven that. So maybe...

Tao's eyes drifted, watching Muzaka move on the northern camera. That wasn't weird - it wasn't like Muzaka was tied to the boiler room, and he was probably carrying the crate of tools to...

Not Storage? Huh.

Then probably just heading straight to the medbay to see Fr...

Tao frowned as Muzaka continued heading north. Towards the dropship. He pulled up the list of tasks they had for the day, but none of them involved going anywhere near there.

Muzaka swiped at the door and it slid open.

Wait...

That made no sense.

Muzaka ducked inside as Tao scrambled through the list, trying to find anything that involved going inside the dropship. Tao hadn't paid much attention to the tasks, but he was pretty sure none of them involved doing that.

So just what exactly was Muzaka doing...?

* * *

Muzaka wasn't the only one going to the dropship. Em and Kentas also went over. Sometimes carrying things, sometimes not. Tao had even seen Frankenstein go over once. Was it just those four? The others seems to keep to their own areas and routines, but the way the four moved, it was like the dropship was part of their their routine.

Tao had done more digging, and still hadn't found any other tasks they could have been doing. Unless there was a group that had secret tasks that no-one else had.

Tao wouldn't put it past the Union to make an even more exclusive in-group, but one that included imposters though?

The four weren't sneaking around, not checking over their shoulders like they were doing something they weren't. Except who would notice?

Walk as if you're meant to be there and no-one questioned it. Tao hadn't and he must have seen them doing it for weeks already. Because they were just going about their tasks, nothing to see there.

Tao sighed, watching the dropship entrance as he leaned back in his chair.

He'd never noticed, because he'd never looked. He'd only check where Muzaka and Em were in relation to everyone else, not what they were doing. Because that was what was most important, right?

Just how many blind spots did he have?

Aside from his own assumptions, the dropship was a literal blind spot: he didn't have any cameras in there either.

Anything could be happening in there.

Tao continued tapping his arm rest, adjusting how he sat to not keep his cast at a bad angle while he watched the monitor. A couple weeks ago, he would have assumed the dropship was a murder area for Muzaka and Em, and after what had happened with Yuri, that Kentas and Frankenstein were helping them out.

But...no-one else had died after Yuri. And all bodies had been found except Yuri's. So...maybe that was where it had disappeared to?

Why though? If he was even right.

Were Frankenstein and Kentas helping Muzaka and Em? Frankenstein's connection was obvious: Muzaka visited him often enough, and the kissing helped solidify their relationship. Kentas had been hugging Em a lot, so maybe that was how he got taken off the kill list too.

Tao checked on everyone else and hissed, scrubbing a hand through his hair. Everyone was still alive and visible on his screens. Then what were those four doing?

It wasn't something he was going to find out just by watching them, that much was obvious. He couldn't just ask could he?

No, he couldn't.

He'd just have to see if there was any kind of pattern that he could figure out before making any decisions.
