Rai swept a glance over the tray one more time, making sure everything was where it was meant to be. It was, so he picked up the tray, heading for Frankenstein's bedroom.
He had timed it right, Frankenstein stirring just as he opened the door.
"Master?" Frankenstein murmured his eyes fluttering open as Rai walked into his room, concern building. "What's..." He trained off, staring at the tray in Rai's hands.
Rai smiled at him. "I made you breakfast."
"I. Yes." Frankenstein continued staring at the plates on the tray. His concern faded, replaced with confusion. "I can see that. But why?" He sat up and held his hands out towards the tray, so Rai gave it to him.
"I wanted to," Rai said, wandering to Frankenstein's window. It had a nice view of the neighbourhood, the sun starting to rise. "You have made me many meals since we met; I wanted to do the same."
"Master..." Frankenstein said. "You shouldn't have - that's why I'm here."
"I wanted to," Rai repeated, hearing Frankenstein begin to eat. Happiness thrummed through their link, making him smile.
"Thank you, Master."
Rai continued watching the sun rise, content in feeling Frankenstein's warmth in the back of his mind.
